With unparalleled candor, Paul McCartney recounts his life and his art through the prism of 154 songs from all stages of his career – from his early childhood compositions to the legendary decade of the Beatles, including Wings and his solo albums. until our days. Organized alphabetically to provide a kaleidoscopic rather than chronological narrative, it establishes for the first time definitive texts of the song’s lyrics and describes the circumstances in which they were written, the people and places that inspired them, and what ‘he thinks so now. The lyrics feature songs from all stages of Paul’s career including Blackbird, Live and Let Die, Hey Jude, Band on the Run and Yesterday, presented with a treasure trove of material from McCartney’s personal archives – drafts, letters, photographs – never seen before, which also makes this a unique visual recording of one of the greatest songwriters of all time.
The exclusive global event will take place at the Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Center, which seats just over 2,700 people, and will be broadcast live worldwide.
